Current Benefits

Medical - The Archdiocese offers medical insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and prescription drug coverage through Medco. As a new employee, you can choose from one of our three medical plans. You can also add any dependents you may have to your coverage. Prescription drug coverage is included with all medical plans. The only time you can change the coverage option you select is during open enrollment. The only times you can add dependents is during open enrollment or if you experience a "life changing event" such as marriage or the birth of a child. For more information on our medical and precription drug plans, click on the Medical.

Dental - The Archdiocese of Chicago offers dental insurance thourgh Guardian/First Commonwealth. Dental differs from medical in that if you enroll in the plan, you are not allowed to drop the coverage within the benefit year unless you terminate employment or become non-benefits eligible. You are always free to drop or change the coverage during the next years open enrollment. For more information on our medical plans, click on the Dental Link.

Vision - Vision coverage is a part of your health coverage offered through the Archdiocese. If you choose PPO coverage in health, then you will recieve PPO vision coverage. If you choose an HMO health plan, then you will recieve HMO vision coverage. For more information on our medical plans, click on the Vision Link.

Flexible Spending Accounts- The Archdiocese offers a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for all benefit eligible employees. The FSA allows employees to take pre tax deductions from their checks to cover everyday medical expenses including prescription drugs and even dependent care.
